Maine cake artist Chanel Thibeault is designer behind Cakes by Design. Like so many professional chefs, her love of baking was inspired by her grandmother, who taught her to bake from the heart and that a cake can bring joy into the world.

At Johnson & Wales University Chanel honed her masterful technique while studying under some of the best chefs in the country. Later, she was selected for an exclusive internship by the amazing Chef, Mark Soliday and his wife Marie of Confectionery Designs in Massachusetts, where she further developed her skills in cake artistry, business management, and entrepreneurship.



Chanel continues to refine her skills, challenge herself, and to expand her artistic creativity to design the most beautiful, elegant, and delicious dessert for your special day!
